Art center opening
Moses Yoder in White Pigeon, MI
>If you should happen to be around Constantine, MI tomorrow and enjoy art I would encourage you to stop by east Water street and take a look at an art center that is opening there. I am taking the liberty of posting this here because I think a few people might be interested in knowing that the midwest is not entirely devoid of art, and this is a small operation that will probably never make any profits for anyone, much less myself. The only profit will be to the people who take advantage of the opportunity to learn art. This project is the dream come to fruition of a local lady who runs a small store downtown called "The Ice Forest".
The concept is pretty neat; we have a group of people interested in art, and a place to teach art. I am very slightly involved in some of the work that was done, and the renovations done on this building were extensive. The plan is to use the space to offer courses in all types of art, which may include some courses on woodworking if there is enough interest. This really is a great opportunity to get more people involved in art, and I am kind of excited about the possibilities. Tomorrow's opening includes free food, lots of items on display, and information about exactly what the plans are for the building. 2-5 pm Saturday January 14'th, take Water street east past the hardware store and the park to the old casket factory, can't miss it; if you went over the bridge you went too far.
