>I found some real nice sockek chisels, and even an old pigsticker mortice chisel. But the real find, I think, is a stanley no 813 8 inch "y", brace with rosewood handles. I cannot find anything about this particular brace, so I'm wondering if its rare or just anything about it. I can get a picture if you like.

Here's a link to a page of Millers Falls braces, scroll down to the 502-503 and 512-513's.
This similar in configuration to what you found?
If so, corner braces are "of interest", and better than average flea market fair, but unless in mint condition not that big a deal.
You'll find your handful of chisels much more useful in general.

Going from memory here as I am not home to check my catalogs or Walters book but think I am right. ....Maybe the "Y" was a sufix used on the lare examples?...just gussing now.....Todd
