Delta Switch

Frank

>Howdy

I just picked up a seven year old unisaw for a very good $$. Sorry that the good old boy checked out before many miles could be put on to the unisaw. Any way, I was cleaning the rust off the top and got to the point to plug it in "WOW" it started up with out the switch being pushed. After a few hours I found the problem and cut off about 1/4" off the green start push rod!!! I think it is fixed??? Then I called Delta 800 # and ask them if they had any problem with this switch and they said "NO". Then I ask them if I could order just the cover and they said no but you could order the whole switch for $125.00 (made in China) I said thank but no thanks. Then I looked on the side of the switch and it had a name of "G P Enter." in Tenn. I got on the old PC here and found a phone number of G P Enter. in Nashville Tenn. area. I gave them a call and got a hold of Gary Parks (owner) of G P Enter. Yes, he made this switch for Delta but Delta then went to China a few year ago for the switchs. Yes, there was a problem with some of the starter switch about seven years ago. Yes, I was able to order a newer type of cover from Gary Parks for only $10.00 + shipping. If you have about seven year old Delta Unisaw, you should take the cover off and check the green start button. My switch would hang up very, very little but just enough to start the saw up. It would only hang up about 1/8" sometimes.. Frank So./Calif.
