Types of wood that you've found "unplanable"?

I'm on a search for the "mother of all boards", the one that has defeated all your attempts at planing... I want to run some tests...
Garrett Hack told me that the worst he's dealt with was white birch crotch (yellow birch is not nearly as difficult to plane, according to him). I have a piece of "white lilac", almost quartersawn, that has given me grief (but I haven't given up on it yet).
Any other candidates?
