I now understand swan neck chisels

>having spent ten minutes cutting/scraping/cursing 1/4" of wood out of the bottom of a lock mortise on our back door to get the lockset to fit after I shaved the door down (yes, yes, should have made it a bit deeper when I made it two years ago). Hard to get a good angle on work that's three inches into a mortise.
Still, it got done - I doubt I'll buy any swan neck chisels for a once-a-decade use.
