>In my review of the LV Bevel up Jointer and Jointer fence (link below), I commented that:
"Installing the BUJ Fence simply involves aligning and inserting two clamping knobs. A set screw fine tunes the squareness of the fence to the sole of the plane.....
...Once square it is tempting to use Loctite to retain a permanent set up. I never managed to obtain a perfectly repeatable setting, and so needed to use the set screw to fine tune the fence each time. Logic argues that this may have been caused by the screw moving position slightly each time, but I did not test out the theory by using the Loctite to glue the threads."
I have since used Loctite to set the threads permanently (the loctite will only loosen if heated).
The setting has remained spot-on, perfect and reliable. Setup is now a very quick process taking under a minute. A worthwhile modification for myself.
