Why it went cheap

>Looks like a Stanley no. 20 everlast that hadn't seen much use. I think there is several things that made it sell for only $57. First photos are pretty bad and description not much better.Chisel could have been cleaned up better and presented better as well. I think if done it would have gone for maybe $25 or so more. The 1 in. size is probably the most common size though. Everlasts chisels used to be really HOT on ebay a year or so back but then fell off , but have come up some from the low they were back in the summer. Back when they were "Hot" a chisel like this would easly go over $100 and I have seen them do twice that [I sold a small red handle one once for around $250] but today it seems the chisel du jour is the more common Stanley 700s series with them often bringing high prices. Not to long ago on ebay you could hardly give away a Stanley 750 , but now they are the "IN" thing . I think probably due to LN bringing out thier repops of them and the press they get in the wood working publications. kind of strange since unlike an Everlast a Stanley 700 chisel is just an ordinary type chisel no different then a buck, witherby, swan, pexto etc. etc......Personaly I can hardly wait till LN starts making Shelton Plane copies ! ......Todd
