>EDM is a process using a charged wire to destory metal, i.e. etching so to speak.
It's commonaly used to make plastic molds today. You would have to charge the plane with a pos charge to start to get a reaction. By the time you got the beast working and applying enough rod to burn the pin out your handle would be on fire and peeling the plating off your plane.
There's got to be a better way...
