William Claspy - question for you

Joe in a Cleveland Suburb

>Hello Bill.

I was looking at your website and reading about the music stand you made. Looks really nice. I want to make something similar for my kids (both 9th graders - 1 sax, 1 flute).

Can you explain what you meant by:

I mitered the edges when gluing it up to minimize any glue lines that might appear when I turned it.

What do you mean you mitered the edges?

Also:

I left a 3/4" square void in the middle to allow the central post to adjust up and down. The lower six inches is closed to serve as a stop.

How did you create the void?

Thanks,

Joe
