>I was in a second hand store this past week and found a Stanley #30 Jointer plane. It was marked for $40 I bought it for $20. ? was it a good buy. The plane is very clean showes very little use. It cleand up very nice and the blade took a good edge. I tryerd it on some hard wood cut offs and love the fine cut I got.

I'd say so

>You got a perfectly serviceable jointer for $20 and it takes nice shavings? I'd say that is a very good buy/deal/steal.

>You did good.

I use a transitional jack as a rough scrub all the time and prefer it too my ECE scrub. The extra length is nice cause it won't follow the valleys as much. Also use this plane to remove all the grundge from my boards before my nice planes touch the wood

Don't know what your intentions are with it but you will find a good use for it as well
