GLOAT - a $7.33 git bench!

>Does someone have a close up photo of Frank Klaus's lovely little flip up saw stop device? Would like to add it to my git's bench. Which he gets for his birthday today.

BTW getting to build a bench for a GIT is a gloat in itself, but my total investment in this bench is $7.33.

The wood top is construction cast off from a custom home's main beam, the legs were all dunage from a local lumber supplier, the stringer is wood from the FIL from his bull pine trees. I picked up the sears WW vise for $7.00 from a blind lady at a yard sale, and 1 lag screw for $0.33 from the local Ace independent.

>I did not see any pictures; so I took a couple of quick shots of mine. Fiddle with the screw layout on scrap to make it work (don't mount it to the bench without a trial fit on scrap; it may not "swing" correctly the first time. Pics are not great; however they should give you the formation to make it work.

>Obviously, you don't use both at the same time :^) Do you saw from both sides of the bench, or is one stop for push saws and the other for pull saws?

>William - I use one for push and the other for pull. Normally use push saws; but it is easy to build it for both possible uses.
