Hand tools 101

RJ

>Hello all;

Well, I would like to start doing some wood carving. I want to make intracatly detailed finials for my old clocks.

Most times all I have is a picture to go by. I also have general style of manufacture and most often used wood.

I can bring the image up in a cad program and hoping to create grid to help me get carving in proper demensions.

But what hand tools to use?

I'm sure I can use a dremmel for sanding and maybe carving out lines. But not sure if this would be good for the majority of the carving.

I would like to know what kind of hand tool set for carving small intracate details is available that maybe some of you preffer.

Thanks for your expertize.

RJ
