Found a Stanley 45 - Questions
Bill Grumbine (Kutztown PA)
>Greetings all
A couple of days ago I was going through some boxes looking for a book (I didn't find it) when I came across a Stanley 45 I own and which I had completely forgotten. It was given to me almost 22 years ago when SWMBO's grandfather passed away. Nobody knew what it was, although people thought it might be some sort of plane. I got all his tools since my BILs had no interest at all. At the time I was not a woodworker, and it got put away. Now it is out and in the shop. However...
It is missing some parts. At the very least it has no cutters for it, and I do not know enough about it to know what I don't know. Where can I begin to find out about this plane? I found a couple of articles on the web, but I am not sure if this is all there is or if there is more in the way of sources or parts. I will try to get some pictures of it if anyone is interested. Nothing tonight though, the camera is not going out in this rain!
Thanks.
Bill
