It has been interesting to watch the reforestation of Yellowstone after the fires of '88. The lodge pole have come back thick as hair and they are now about head high. The formerly burned areas look like green crew cuts, actually quite pretty, at least from a distance, compared to the mature bedraggled stands of lodge pole.
Wolf predation of elk is supposed to spur reforestation of aspen, but my casual observation was unable to see a remarkable difference. There were buffalo everywhere, including an alarming bull visit to the tent site.
