>Gotta wonder why this Millers Patent recieved no bids. I realize that it is missing the skate, but you'd think that it would still be worth something. Figure parts for these are hard to find, but once found the value of this would sky-rocket.

Is this another sign of e-bay sales falling off due to high fuel prices which is affecting the cost of everything?

>Have to say if I would have seen it I would have bid on it. It is missing a lot of parts that are very hard to find, and cost more than the plane is worth if you do find them.

>I see alot of Ebay traffic these days. Snipers abound, however, and it seems most bidding happens in the last hour of the sale. Nice plane but I think they meant it was missing *fence*.

>I notice the same thing about the last minute bidding and snipers. I think this has somthing to do with some of the lower prices over all. I wouldn't doubt that Ebay will make a move to do somthing about it as it is starting to hit there bottom lime also. If somthing gets in the way of proffets changes are made.

>If this seller had been smart he would have broken it up and sold the parts individual and used in his title "Stanley no.41 plane part" and he would have done VERY well I think. Is a little surprising it didn't sell but I guess the only people looking at it was guys that wanted a complete 41 and not guys needed the parts. If I had seen it I think I would have bid on it just to do this.

While ebay may be a little slow on some things on the whole I don't see that much lower prices. Certainly plane parts are still in demand, in the past couple weeks I have sold several regular [no.5] Stanley totes for around $30 which is the most I think I have ever got for them.Kind of strange as you could probably buy an entire plane with a good tote off ebay for the same price or even less but that is how things work.....Todd

I'm guessing maybe the seller knows the value but forgot to attach a reserve???Just a WAG....

Perhaps that's why Ebay bought that internet phone service? Hmmm, the possibilities abound.
