I'm not quite clear what you are referring to.
If you are concerned about the plane shaving off the shooting board backstop, this will occur but only for a few passes.
Once the plane develops a small rabbet like protrusion at the inside corner of the plane track , it is ok.
The protrusion (for lack of a better term) is direclty due to the blade not covering the full expanse of the sole. The small 3/16 ? portion at the sides of the plane sole do not plane away the shooting board channel and keep the plane away from the backstop after a few passes.
