LN Planes Arrived....In the Rain!
Erik S. Friis, wish I was in Dodge!
>Yes, I found the FedEx box sitting by my garage and it was pouring rain....the outside of the box was wet, but everything inside seemed to be nice and dry. Could have been a disaster!
Anyway, now that I have the tools, LA block, #3, #4.5 and a dovetail saw, what's next for this new slippery sloper? I thought the panes would come in some nice plane sock or something like my last pair of Allan Edmonds shoes, but they were just wrapped in paper. Do I buy something for them...sock? Do they need to be wiped down, waxed, oiled? I noticed a fine coating of something on the DT saw...do you wipe it off or leave it?
I despise the rust that seems to form on my hand tools and would hate for it to appear here, so please offer some guidance. The bronze body seemed to have some darker areas on the metal...is there a way to buff these out?
As you can tell I'm real new at the proper care of these high end tools, as most of my tools are power, so sorry for the dumb questions, but I'd like to take care of these correctly from the start.
Thanks, Erik
