Ernie: that old Spokeshave brought a smile...

Ned Bulken

>Ernie,

just thought you might want to know that spokeshave brought me quite a smile last night. I was looking for something to do in the shop w/out a huge time investment, Lo and behold I found a spoon I'd started, but set aside. well I got that clamped up, and proceeded to spend about two hours just making it go 'schnnnk' and making shavings. The spoon needs a little more work, but it will be in the mail when it gets done. I need to finalize the handle a bit, it is kind of lumpy right now. LOL

I got so inspired that today when I got wind of a deal from hartsville tools over on another forum (green forum, related to woodsmith and shopnotes) I placed an order for a block plane and a set of card scrapers! That plus a lathe I'm rehabbing and it should be a fun winter!

Thanks again!
