Guys.. and ladies

There are 9 ways to do it. They all work fine... or they wouldn't have hung around. It is all personal preference. Totally. Just like pins or tails first.... Don't matter. The reaseon "new stuff" come out every year is cause they know we'll buy it. We are almost as pitiful prey for the retailers as fishermen and golfers.

I remember the story Marc Adams tell about his apprenticeship with Tage Frid. He especially wanted to learn honing from the master. He was horrified when he say Frid put a good chisel down free hand on a belt sander and then polish it on a fine oil stone. Frid saw the look on Marc's face and said "Do you want to work wood or sharpen chisels? I can shave with this edge".
