Honey Locust - any good?

>I have more honey locust on my property than I care to. It seems to be one of the few things the deer and beavers leave alone. One of them just happens to be crowding out a black walnut and so is a candidate for culling.
I was just wondering if anyone had any experience with using honey locust in wood working and could relate any characteristics about it. I figure I'll need some platemail gauntlets and a draw knife to safely remove the 4-5" thorns.
Thanks,
