Need Information about Goldenberg plane

>My mother-in-law recently bought and gave me a wooden plane with the
name "GOLDENBERG 44" stamped in the iron with 2 "eyes" above it,and
"ACIER CHROME A GARANTIE" below it. A "44" is also stamped into the
front of plane.Since it looks like it has never been used,I would appreciate any info that could be given as to it's age,maker,and
value. Thanks, Bill
