>Probably about 1/2 of my oversea buyers send me US cash often using registered mail. After dozens of transactions I have never had a problim. I feel a little funny asking them to do this and don't but like I said lots do with no problim.Best way is for them to use a service like Bidpay which will send you a check, also if they can send you a check drawn on a US bank.Have had more then a couple pay using western union where I have to go pick the money up. A hassel for me but I will take it.If this is what you do make sure to get the buyers phone number as I have had to have that befor I could get the money. Forign checks and money orders my bank has to put into collection and won't give me the cash right then. Little bit of a hassel and if they don't catch it when the bank cashes them they charge me a small ,[$3.50] fee. Used to get lots of forigners that wanted to pay with a wire transfer from thier bank to mine and would ask for my bank account number.Sounded funny to me and I would never give it out to them, probably legit but I ain't going to do it.
A few thoughts about forign shipping. In my experance the English postal service can be pretty poor at least judging by the relivtive high number of lost and returned packages.Maybe has something to do with the long and complex addresses they use.Be very careful to get the address right. Also cutoms open lots of packages and I think sometimes they de address them in the process. Surface to Canada is extreamly slow and should be avoided.I have sent something surface to Australia much faster then to Toronto...go figure. Jappan customs can be very picky returning such things like knives.Have heard the same about England though can't speak to that from personal experance. Is funny but must be something that is pretty commonly known over there because often the buyers will ask you to declare on the forms it is "camping gear", always "Camping Gear" and caution never say a knife.Once sent a WWII grenade launcher labeled as "Auto Parts" and it made it though no trouble!......Todd
