Sightings Shot Queston

Bob Hutchins in central TX

>Was this taken before or after they moved the lighthouse? The last time I climbed those steps was in February '65. Couldn't see a single soul on the beach in either direction. The bridge to Hatteras Island was 'new' and you had to take a ferry to Ocracoke. Only natives were there then; had to make an appointment with the cook in the restaurant to get meals (out of season).

BobH, fondly remembering the Banks when they were still almost wild.

All I can say is that the top end of the island -- from Kitty Hawk up to Corolla Light -- is out of control. It's not even fun to go there anymore, and we were staying at houses up the beach, far from the madding crowd. Getting there is a real pain.

Ah for the old days, when we used to go wading in Pamlico Sound and gather bay scallops with not a soul in sight.
