Anyone from Nashville, TN area?

Mitch from NYC

>I'm a native Tennessean now living in NYC but considering moving to Nashville. Just wondering if there's anyone on this forum from the Nashville area. If so, I'd love to hear about furniture-making goings-on.

Thanks!

Mitch

>Well, I'm down the road a bit, but since nobody posted yet.... I really like Nashville. We've considered moving there ourselves. I've not tried the Colco store there, but the one in Memphis is ok (though I hear it is about to change hands, so we'll see). The Frist Center has a decent collection of furniture. The Williamsburg traveling show was at Cheekwood. I think there are a couple of local wood suppliers in the area. New Woodcraft in Franklin. Lonnie Bird's school right down the road, etc. Memphis is somewhat of a woodworking void. Only two stores in town that I know of. One doesn't sell wood. I did see some really nice work from a Memphian in FWW this month though. Good luck with your decision and with your move if you go that route. You'll have to be a Titan fan! I'm always amazed at how much Titan "stuff" we see in Nashville now. Oh, the Gibson Guitar company has several neat places up there. We have one here too. I interviewed before they opened...but that's a long story!
