Who got this Brochure *LINK*

Todd O. Cronkhite Maine Native in FL. Exile :~(

>Was watching this Sharpening Brochure on da-bay and it went higher than I could really afford to pay, so I let it go. Am wondering if it was one "of us" who got it as I'd be interested in a photocopy of it.

I hope that this question isn't out of line, and if it is please excuse my ignorance.

Thanks,

Todd O.

The scans are not complete, just a few sample pages...

Sorry - but they do offer the booklet for sale.

>No problem Leif, I just appreciate the fact that you brought this to my attention. Must confess to an excellerated heart rate at the moment over it. $40 is a bit steep for me at the moment as I am also watching a few items on das-bay. This booklet sure would go with a stone collection nicly tho wouldn't it. ARRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRGH!!!!!

>Ya got it bad, Todd. I figured you would have just kept bidding till you had that little thing; it looked like it was in real good shape. I hear it works pretty well to just walk in the door and say "Hey, honey, I spent $150 on ebay today." And then go take a shower. Perhaps they were cold showers for a while ? ;) I still wish I'd have kept my hand in the air when the hammer was falling on that Pike stone with the orginal label still stuck to it, like new in the box from the 30's I estimated. I let it go for $15, and if I knew anything wouldn't have let it go for twice that.

Brother, you don't pull that trick very often and live to tell the tale, so I'm saving it for the next real $$$ thing. ;~)

As much as I would of liked to have had I decided that it was too much. Besides, I've got my eye on another stone that I want.

Damn, e-bay is killing me latly.

Moses, you mean.......

>I still wish I'd have kept my hand in the air [when the hammer was falling on that Pike stone with the orginal label still stuck to it]

Ahhhhhhhhhhhhh yes, that would be the Ol' Tood Hughes Statue Of Liberty technique. I hear it is quite effective, tho I'd think a wee bit risky.

Actually, I seen todd do that once, only I didn't know what he was doing at the time. I wondered what he was up too standing there like that. Didn't realize what it was all about 'til he mentioned this technique months later right here on WC.

On a side note: In Scottish, the name Todd means Fox. As in crazy like a sly fox. I think this fits our Todd H. quite well. ;~)

>I've really become enamored with sharpening stones and every thing associated with them especially old literture about them. I never really realized that there was so many shapes, sizes, makers, grits, accessories etc, etc, about them until recently. Who'd of thunk that the lowly common sharpening stone could be so interesting.

Was watching a nice, never used, still in the wrapper old stone on der-bay and dang if it hasen't gone up to over $100. Well, that's one that I won't get. ;~( Ahhhhhhhhhhhhh, but alas take heart maties I've gut me peepers peepin' at ah few utters.

>HA! Took me a few minutes to figure out all the puns that you had in that short post, but I got them. As much as I hate the word I'd have to say that that was quite clever. Gads, how I hate that word.

Fortuntely tho Patrick I tend to like the Finer grits. ;~)
