>You can't see it in my poor picture but the curved edge is serrated with teeth cut into the face like a planemaker's float.The teeth are about half the width of the blade and are cut into the outer half of the curve. So what is it? Anyone got a clue?---Jack

>This is a Shoemaker or Cobbler Tool.Used to smooth the shoes wooden pegs I believe. Pretty common though normaly the handle is shaped a bit differently and this one may have a replaced handle off of an awl it looks like to me, but is for sure a cobbler tool and not a wood working one......Todd

>Got home and looked it up in a leather workers book and see that it is called a Rand or Rhan File and was used to trim the edge of the shoes sole around the seat of the heel....Todd
