miter saw

>I think I need a Sear's Full Range Compounding miter Box (this is the handsaw version, not a cheap compound miter saw). Anyone have any comments plus or minus? How accurate is it, resettable and durable? Anything else that should be considered?

Is is a good buy for someone doing moderate quality hobby woodworking. If it ain't, is there something else better?

Thanks for the help!

>I have one of those saws. It has been gathering dust for about 2 years now. Can't even sell it for 2 dead flies!!:). I now use a Langdon with a Disston saw. But, if you want to go the trouble of buying a Craftsman, trying to keep it cutting straight, setting the teeth, GOOD LUCK!!!!!!!!

>I don't know anything about the saw you mentioned but I keep a millers falls miter saw set up near my workbench.I use it all the time.I bought one of those swedish lightweight modern versions a few years ago and hated it.I felt guilty giving it away, like I was somehow cheating the person I gave it to.---Jack

>I think you`ll find you can place a winning bid for a quality iron miter box and back saw for less than it will cost you to have it shipped.

I`d look there before I took Bob Vila`s word for anything regarding tool expendatures.
