Refurbishing anvil on old saw set?

I have an old saw set that I've cleaned up. From my research the brand is Boker, and it looks quite old. After cleaning it up it looks great, except that the anvil is in bad shape, probably from too many sharpenings.

Has anyone tried to refurbish a saw set anvil, and how? From what I can see the tool is all cast iron.

Could this tool have a value which would be destroyed by "fixing" it?

Thnx,

DC

Perhaps
