Which specialized hand tools to buy first?

>Hi,
If one were looking to move away from a mostly power tool centric approach to woodworking (furniture making in particular) and wanted to supplant some of the power tool operations with hand tool operations, what would be your priority ranking of things you would start doing with hand tools first?
For example, I have no desire to give up my power jointer and planer for stock prep, since, having young kids, time is a precious commodity and I don't want to spend a lot of it doing the bulk of the stock prep work by hand. Instead, I'm thinking more along the line of cutting joints, edge profiling, etc.
I'm looking to combine the best of both worlds, with an acknowledgement that power tools do somethings better/quicker, and hand tools do some things better.
Thanks.
Todd
