Gotta Gloat a Bit

Tom MacGregor, Vermont

>If I mention planes around home everyone runs off screaming, "Don't get him started!" I just have to tell this to someone who understands. Visiting the folks in Buffalo, went to a fleamarket. Saw 99% overpriced trash, then spotted a Vaughn & Bushnell #806 Lincoln (Bedrock clone)fore plane. Intact, good wood, no pittng, nearly 100% japan & iron, just needs a good clean & tune. The guy was upset 'cause it wasn't one 'o them valuable Stanleys. He asked $30, I got it for $25. Hit a small cabinet shop that will sell stock retail the next day & "helped" them out by buying some odd pieces that had been in a bin in the back corner for "about 10 years". One is a defect free 3"x 8"x 26" piece of Brazilian Rosewood. Can't wait to hit my shop tomorrow...There, thanks for listening. I feel better now.
