>Anyone ever heard of a Capewell plane? I just acquired a block plane with that name. It seems to work pretty good but the blade is about worn out.

Capewell no longer makes tools, now they make parachute delivery systems for the military (like sleds that tanks, etc. sit on when they are shoved out of the back of planes) and are famous for the, well, "Capewell"; that's the parachute release which had the word "Capewell" on it, which became the common name for the release.
