>Does anyone have any inside information as to what is going on with Stephen Shepherd? I sent him a check at the end of February for his book, and it was cashed, but I have yet to receive the book. He has not answered my emails or phone calls.
Any live sightings of him this spring?

Dunno (which, of course, is why I replied!). But I seem to remember yours is not the first adventure of this kind with Shepherd. There was a very warm thread about it some months ago--before the new year, IIRC naturally. You might want to see if you can find it; again IIRC, there were some possible solutions and explanations.
