>What did I do wrong? Back a couple of months or so, there was yet another K-Body feeding frenzy, and I got swallowed up in it, again. This one seemed quite unlike prior futile Orange Borg events, so I placed an order, and found that the clamps were sold out and back ordered. So, I waited until the expected ship date, and a little more. Yesterday, I checked my order status, and fine them to be "In stock and reserved", but alas the website does not reveal an expected ship date, nor any clue as to why they are not shipping.

Rob, can you help clarify what is going on?

I do believe that they are all on their way to Australia. No kidding! There was a feeding frenzy here as well. I was not part of it, but watching from the sidelines I sit in awe at the order placed with LV (and Rob has published the pictures to prove it all). See Link below and move to Item #393 for the pictures. It is mind boggling!!! There have been over 21 thousand hits on this topic on Woodwork Forum's website!

I'm also in the same status. When can we anticipate shipping?

>Hi William -

The Clamps actually arrived on Monday (yesterday)...

We "fudged" them into inventory early - so we can prepare the customs work ahead of time, and get everthing else organized. This also gives us time to authorize the credit cards (not charge - that happens when we ship)....

As some of these backorders have been open for a few months, there're a number of people whose cards have expired, or been lost etc. ... this allows us to deal with them without delaying shipment. As a good example - I, too, am in the group this week, and much to the amusement of customer service - my credit card didn't pass... I had reported it lost 6 weeks ago, and forgot about the back-order....

All the clamps we have will be leaving today... the next shipment (due in two weeks I think) finally clears the backlog.

Thanks for your patience!

Cheers -

Rob

Don't forget...

>...there's 4 KP blocks in there too!

It was a good deal... I bought 3 sets (no discount).

Don't think we'll repeat that again for a long time...

>Yeah Rob...a little salt was needed for my wounds.

After you wrote-

...there's 4 KP blocks in there too! ...

I completely remembered the deal but never acted on it. I think that was about the time that I was abducted by Aliens and my memory was erased. (That's what I wrote on my tax form as well!) :)

>The personal recriminations could be much worse. A few years ago, when I was just beginning to get really serious about making quality furniture, I was a member of a Woodworkers' Club, at that time loosely affiliated with Woodcraft. This particular club went belly up. I had the opportunity to buy all the Bessey's they had in stock at less than half price. Yeah, I let another good one get away, because I didn't fully realize at the time that "you never have enough clamps," especially K-bodies. Since then, I have learned never to turn down a good deal on good clamps.

All I got out of the disaster was a DJ-20, and I don't think we want to go there on this forum.
