Handcut dovetails revisitied....

>Ok....
I have been practising my handcut DT's and they are actually starting to look pretty good. I think the thing that is causing me trouble (other than a complete lack of skill and sometimes patience) is, how do I mark the tails? I get real nice pins cut and it looks really clean and accurate, but when I mark the tails I can only mark one side of the board. Unlike when cutting the pins, I have no line to follow on the other side of the board. Is there a trick to this? Do I just not mark it, or should I use the gauge I used to mark the pins, etc....? Also, do you use a pencil, or a knife to mark it?
The layout tips worked really well, thanks again for that...it's so easy now.
I will get through this.......any help is appreciated.
Thanks
KenR
