Like many of us, these woodworkers practiced new skills they learned while making their projects. Often times I find myself taking on projects just to try out a new technique or skill. To some this can be nerve racking. For me, I find the challenge heightens my concentration and produces great results.

However, you forgot one thing. In addition to taking on a project to learn a new skill, perhaps the best reason to try some new project is to acquire a new skill :-))
