Look what I found!

>My wife made me go with here to the Antique Mall today. I found this old wooden plane. I can't find a makers mark. I suspect that it used be on one of the ends, but someone has beaten them full of dents with a hammer. It is 21" long and has a 2 1/2" iron. The iron is tapered and has a large chip breaker attached with a round head screw. There is a large square nut attached or maybe made as part of the breaker. The sole has a triangular cutout ahead of the iron for I guess an adjustable mouth piece. There is no piece there.
The sole looks like a second piece of wood laminated to the rest of the body. It is about 3/4" thick. This is pushed away from the body slightly at the front and back where the hammer was used. Because of this the sole is not quite flat anymore.
Someone tell me how to rehab this thing. Anyone have any idea who may have made it?
