Unfortunately it is all in German. The author narrates abut the sharpening stone trade in Solingen. All those stones who are stapled like Goudas were meant for the little griniding mills along the river "Wupper". The author informs that there was an average need of 200-300 sharpening stones in the region "Bergisches Land" per annum.

The normal stones were were imported from the Mosel-Region and the finest stones from England.

Kirschen (Two Cherries) and EC Emmerich are seated in Remscheid only some miles away from Solingen.

Christof.
