>Glenn,
I haven't attended the class myself, but my neighbour was telling me about a friend of his that did. It really did sound great. It is now on my 'want to do' list!

>I attended the Craftmanship 1A course the week starting Feb 28. Probably the best way of describing how I felt is that now I've signed up for 1B and 2A. These courses are skills courses. You don't go home with a completed project.
The atmosphere is perfect for me. It's both relaxed and intense at the same time. Relaxed in the sense that each person works at his/her own level. There isn't a sense of competition, and there isn't a need to finish your project by the end of the week. But it is intense in that everyone is encouraged to work at a very high level. The goal is to be able to produce very fine furniture after the series.
In some ways the material covered is very basic. As one of the teachers explained most students know at some level a lot of the material covered, but most have holes like swiss cheese. The course filled in the gaps and moved all my skills to a higher level. The teachers are all very good.
The setting is beautiful, and large windows in the workshop (many facing South) look out onto a river. The town is delightful, with an amazing variety of good food available for such a small town.
Feel free to e-mail me with any questions.

Get there early on the first day for one of the primo benches looking out over the river. In my opinion the course is money well spent. I just took 2a back in February, and will take 2b when time and money are in greater supply.
