LFOD this weekend??

>I was thinking about going to Indianapolis this weekend, to look for some carving gouges and other stuff. Not much in the auctions that I am interested in. I hoped to see some dealer sales, but don't know much about what's available. I would like to get some advice about tool buying there, outside the auction.

BTW what happened to the Porch archives?

Thanks!!

I couldn't make it last year at all due to work, but I know in previous years there wasn't much in the way of tail gating, maybe 5 or 10 people selling.

I've tried it myself (selling) w/only mediocre success.

I mostly ended up taking abuse and lowball offers from other dealers, not alot of traffic.

The Friday night dealers tended more towards the pricey and were less inclined to deal. I don't remember alot of user stuff @ decent prices.

To be fair though, things could have radically changed in a year.

I think the Indy auctions are still kinda finding their nitch/stride.

The parking lot and dealer show may have gelled in the last 18 months.

What exactly are you looking for?

>Thanks Cooper-

I'm looking for higher quality carving gouges, maybe a small regular angle block plane (102 or equivalent), and whatever else catches my eye. I live about an hour away. I don't want to waste a lot of time, though, because I have tons of stuff to do out in the shop. I may just pass.
