>Barr is the number one chisel in every professional timber frame workshop. They aren't common in cabinet making for a couple of reasons. Barr only started making the cabinet chisels a few years ago. Before that it was just 1.5" and 2" framing chisels and a slick. The other reason is cost. They aren't cheap. Barr trained under a Samurai sword maker in Japan for many years. Hand forging takes time and effort.

IIRC they're in the same ball park as LN and many "upper end" Japanese chisels.
