Neander grafting

>Helped out at a tree grafting class. To get a good graft the joining twigs are sliced at about 30 degrees to the twig axis (scarf joint).(there are other cuts made to lock the scarf, and tape to hold it all together) These cuts must be flat or the twigs will not make a good joint. Unless I practice some I tend to slice these cuts less than flat. Block plane to the rescue! My little wooden block plane planed the angled cut nice and flat and the wood sole does not leave anything on the cut that would interfer with the cells joining.
