"Shellac Flat"?

Dave Mount

>Homestead Finishing's site lists a product called "Shellac Flat" that is supposed to partially flatten the sheen on shellac. I've always done this by rubbing down the piece and waxing. However, on complex surfaces, this is a pain and it's easy to over-abraid sharp corners and details.

Anyone used this stuff? Flattening agents in other film finishes often telegraph brushstrokes even when they aren't visible in the "topography" of the finish itself. . .wondering if this stuff would do the same.

Thanks.

>Why don't you try Jeff a Homestead on his forum or by Email. I never noticed the phenomenon you mentioned, but if Jeff sells it, he's tested it and will give you a straight answer.
