I was interested to see your approach. I was toying with using a lamination approach to make my first molding planes. Everyone says the mortising is not that bad, but it seems to me like there are challenges enough to begin with.
What surprised me was your lamination approach, which is very different from what I was thinking about. I was envisioning doing the lamination from the other side; to cut the non-escapement side off the blank, then cut the wedge mortise in from the non-escapement side. Then cut the bed and ramp using the table saw approach John Whelan describes (if the step isn't cut yet, then that wood will hold the thing together. Then glue non-escapement cheek back on and cut the step
I guess your approach allows the bed and wedge mortise to be cut in one pass, but you don't end up with a ramp, do you? Also, it looks like the mouth is not very fine -- does that give you trouble?

In the Todd Herrli (sp?) video, he makes the hollow first, using a v-plow plan to establish the depth in the center, then a round plane of a smaller diameter to rough it out. The final shaping is done with sandpaper wrapped around a dowel of the appropriate diameter to match the hollow. Once made, the hollow is used as a mother plane for the matching round.

>I cut the profile with a table saw at first, in order to remove as much wood as I can. Then from my collection of planes I use a molder that comes close and hand cut to a rough shape. I then follow that with a scraper to scrape to a finale shape.
For the first inquiry, the escapement is cut wider so that it dose not choke up. The old ones choke because the escapement is to small. But it could also be the wood. Sometimes grain pattern could clog up the plane.
