>I've seen stanley and starret level sights listed on e-bay. What do you use them for? They look sorta like gun sites, but I'm having a hard time seeing what they could be used for. Maybe to make a level into a transit?

>I use one for carpentry.It gives me an idea of elevation differences from one point to another when laying out the perimeter of a building.It's also helpful when building fences or figuring runoff for drainage.I don't think it was intended to replace a transit but as a general layout tool.---Jack
