>It's been awhile but I'm back at it. I'll be going to breakfast in the morning with 15 - 20 of you fine people in the morning before I go to the KC wood show. not much on the shopping list but it will be fun hanging out. I hope to make it into the shop sunday I bought a chuck for the lathe and it arrived last night I started turning a potpouri dish and will finish blowing it up. I see some hair line cracks and I'm sure it will go as I turn the foot. but ha I got to give it a shot it some nice elm burl. I hit an estate sale this morning picked up a couple nice saws a brass hammer and a porcelin trinket box so I will be listing them on e-bay and taking the wife out for dinner all weekend long. Every One Have a SAFE & ROCKIN GOOD WEEKEND!!!

>I'm in the middle of tuning about 20 hand planes. Most of the irons are lapped. I put them all to the grinder to the get the angle last night and the bodies are all cleaned.

Tomorrow LOML is dragging me off to the the RV show, but after that, finish the lapping, then the finish sharpening and flattening the soles.

Should be a lot of filings in the shop this weekend.

>What chuck did you get, Ernie?

Going to be staining and finishing some plain-Jane shelves for LOML's pantry storage. Then will be playing with the new tool handle making device (lathe).

>So how was breakfast and the show?

I got some more work done on the cedar chest. I'm using it as my Adam's Chalenge project. Got the three pannels glued up and started on the dovetails. Sunday I took my grandfather out to his farm. We went along the creek and I saw what I think was a good size walnut burl on the other side! I'll have to go back when I'm alone so I can cross the creek and get to that tree. Pa said I made his day, so it was worth missing the show!
