>I'm nearing the end of the planning stage, and am almost ready to begin forking out the dough for some lumber. I'm headed to Randall Bros in the morning, and should arrive home with some clear SYP and plenty of excitement.
What about glue? Elmers Wood Glue, Gorilla Glue, epoxy (I'm kidding...), what do you guys recommend?
When I was going to use Borg lumber, I was planning on borrowing a surface planer, to clean up the glueing face on all the boards - is this neccesary with No. 1 SYP? I plan on ripping the radiused edge off with the table saw.
The holes for my twin screw vise are my biggest concern, I think - any tips on how to do all this? I'm planning on drilling, before glue-up, 1 1/2 holes, 20" between the holes, through 20"-24" of the top. I'm thinking about turning two 1 1/2" cylinders out of anything dry, to use to line up the holes in the glue up - good idea, or no?
Anything else I should know, before attempting to begin this massive glue up? I do plan on doing it two at a time, then progressing from there.
Any advice is appreciated - thanks.
David
