It's Been Two Years

Jim Shaver - Oakville, Ontario

>Hi,

It was two years ago yesterday that I came over to Wood Central, many of us did. In these two years I have made great friends, enjoyed the high times and some low times with many of you here.

I want to thank Ellis for taking many of in those two years ago and for the Regulars here at WC at that time to accept the flood of people coming over, you all showed a great deal of class. WC'rs have all been great, I continue to grow here as a woodworker and as a person, WC is my woodworking home...Thank You One and All!

Take care,

Jim

>Jim,

Let me second that. I was sad to see Badger Pond slip away, yet, the spirit lives on here at WoodCentral, with MANY of the old familiar names , still active. I always enjoy dropping by.

Ellis has done a superb job, and the collective knowledge here, is second to none.

My hat is off to each and everyone, who contributes to the forum. Chapeau!!!!

All the best, Bob

Two Years of Hand Tools??

Ted Owen, Pittsburgh

>I just can't believe it's been two years already. I, too, am grateful to Ellis for creating the Hand Tools forum and for being so open, welcoming, patient, and otherwise gracious in so many ways.

The knowledge I've gained here is immeasurable. Not only techniques for performing certain operations, but entirely new ways of looking at challenges--perhaps with more of an artist's eye than my usual mechanical or step-by-step approach to things.

But when I look back, what I see most fondly are the warm friendships, hopefully lifelong friendships. With great anticipation, I look forward to 5-Barns in July and the chance to see some of you again to share secrets and screwups.

Congratulations on two wonderful years, everyone.

Best, Ted

Thanks everybody

>Most especially Ellis.

I agree with Ted,I learn as much about community here as I do about woodworking.

More than once the high point of my day has been either a call,a visit,an e-mail or just reading a post from one of my friends here.
