Record clamps on eBay

Bill Houghton, Sebastopol, CA

>I was cruising tonight, and noticed that there are just bunches of Record bar clamps, of the light-duty variety, on sale on eBay for absurd prices, like $10 for five 30" clamps. Anyone know what the quality is like? Even with $12 shipping, that seems like a bargain - about $4 each if I'm doing my math right - if they're any good.

>If they're like this one, they're excellent. They don't flex much, never slip, and have plenty of torque.

>Re-read all of the buy it now info. It looks like shipping $11.95 + $7.95 each additional item plus $9.95 each. This would be $93.50. It looks like the bid is for each clamp with 5 available. You should ask the seller to clearify.

>I just bought some from "sell2all". Thats the dealers name.. The clamps are excellent and he has been a great dealer. I have bought from him several times. He has Record brand tools regularly too.

>A couple of years ago I bought Nooitgedagt chisels and planes from them. It was a pain to get them to combine items for shipping, but they did. Now I think they won't even try. However, they're good sellers, even given their brain dead computer systems. Lately I've seen them selling lots of old tools.
