DMT Duosharp

>Ok, I am sorry, I am sure this has been covered to death, but it has been difficult for me to find. Do the Duosharp's work? I am new to sharpening, and would like to get going on some planes that I have, but don't want to make a large initial investment only to find that it is not the best choice. I realize also that there is a lot of "religion" on this subject, so I am looking forward to all answers, or links to prior conversations on the subject. I am willing to pay the money for both of the combination "stones" if they are worth it. Or are the waterstones really where its at. It just seems like if you can elimanate a step of having to keep the stones true, it would take less time. I also spoke with a local who uses the duosharps that said that the coarse really makes quick work of getting rid of deep gouges in the iron, which I have to deal with. Well, I could keep asking stuff, but I think I will get pleny of opinions... thanks in advance.
