William Duffield ? on carving bench article

>William,

Your article on wood carving tool sets mentions a "pipe dream" bench/base. I've tried to google for more info on this bench. Can you provide a little more info to help me narrow my search? I am thinking of combining your tips with the benchtop bench in the recent PW mag.

BTW I have read your article several times in the last 6 months. Thanks for posting your tips.

Thanks,

Curtis

Note that I haven't built that attachment yet. The main reason is that I though it was a little too small for the scale of the bench I built, but when I tried to scale it up to larger pipe sizes, I couldn't make everything fit without some modifications. I'll get it to work when the carving gets back near the top of my son's priorities.

Of course I should have stated the benchtop bench was in FWW. My mistake.

>The pipe just drops through the eye. When the nut on the other end of the eyebolt is tighten, the eye pulls the pipe up against the end of the T. Friction holds it in place. That way, by sliding the bolt up or down, the height of the platform is adjustable.
